Running a successful gardening company for over 10 years I had found it hard to find plants supports and metal garden features to reach my customers’ requirements. Looking for the rusty patina style but with a heavy duty look I found it hard to acquire these items so the next best option was to design and make my own.
With a back ground in engineering and classic car restoration I felt I had enough skills to take this next step and IRON TREE was formed.
Having designed a range of obelisk’s that have been developed with my customers, using 10mm steel as the structures base and keeping them in their bare steel form this gives them a natural rusty appearance, allowing climbers to grow up them in the growing season and allowing a decorative structure to be seen in the winter months.
Keeping customer’s gardens maintained I found the need for metal edging to keep the boarders looking sharp but allowing me to create different lines and shapes in the boarders. Finding to achieve this I created my own metal edging allowing me to have different depth and thicknesses and creating steel raised beds. I also used this to create edging for paths and driveways.
With customers seeing my different types of metal work I was asked to take on other projects ranging from benches, steel flowers, gates, rose arches, steel planter. Products are made to order and can be bespoke for customers’ requirements.
